Michael Stechman is a Consultant Endocrine and General surgeon based at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. As well as managing patients with benign and malignant thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal disease, he also has a significant practice in re-operative parathyroidectomy and recurrent thyroid cancer. He is a co-author on more than 70 peer-reviewed papers on endocrine and emergency surgery and has co-written chapters in several major surgical text books. His principal interest is how surgical technologies can enhance patient experience and outcomes in endocrine surgery. He is a past Honorary Secretary of the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons and current UK National delegate for the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons.
