Biography: Oussama Elhage

Oussama is a consultant urological surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London, one of the largest hospitals in the UK. He is an honorary senior lecturer at King’s College London (KCL). He has published and presented over 100 papers, book chapters, abstracts, and lectures internationally. His main scientific interests are in the immunology of the prostate and a rare form of prostate cancer called ductal cancer. His clinical research focuses on active surveillance for prostate cancer, and he is currently a member of a team running a large multinational randomised trial comparing active surveillance using standardised triggers for repeated biopsy and radical treatment with current practice.

In his clinical practice, Oussama’s main interests include prostate cancer diagnostics, prostate cancer treatment with high dose rate and low dose rate brachytherapy. He also has an interest in treating benign enlargement of the prostate with various minimally invasive surgical techniques as well as with advanced laser techniques such as Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate.

Outside work, Oussama enjoys cycling with friends in the English countryside.
