Biography: Sachin Malde

Sachin Malde is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London, UK. He began his medical education at Guy’s, Kings and St Thomas’ School of Medicine. He spent the majority of his training at specialist centres in London, gaining further experience in the range of treatments for urinary incontinence, reconstructive urological surgery and neuro-urology. His research into the urodynamic assessment of men with post-prostatectomy incontinence led to an MSc in Urology for which he was awarded the Geoffrey Chisholm Gold Medal. He is a sub-specialist in functional and open/robotic reconstructive urology, and minimally invasive surgery for benign prostatic enlargement.

He has published his research extensively, including several book chapters and over 100 Pubmed-indexed peer-reviewed publications. He is a Guidelines Panel Member for the European Association of Urology guidelines on male lower urinary tract symptoms and serves on the editorial board of a number of specialist urological journals. He has a passion for teaching and training, and is the undergraduate lead for Urology for King’s College London Medical School, and has served as tutor on numerous Royal College of Surgeons, British Association of Urological Surgeons and European Association of Urology courses.
